Let the Fun Begin!

Feb 10, 2012

I'm in MWANZA!!! After 20 long months of fundraising, I've made it to Mwanza and am ready to bring the dream of Hero Home to life! I'm with Tabitha in our new headquarter, a quaint little house in the village of Kisesa, the nearest village to our land. We've settled in and things are underway! Our first project is getting a well dug. There will be pictures soon!

Feel free to follow along on our adventures on my blog:

Also, check back soon for updates on how our GO! Schools will be showing their support over the next few months. We've got a lot of great fundraisers coming up, including the second annual Homeless for a Day fundraiser at Westwood Collegiate which has a brand new name this year, GO! Homeless!

NEW YEAR! NEW ADVENTURES!

Happy 2012! This update comes a little but it is packed full of great news! The Christmas season was extremely successful for GO!.
It began with Westwood's Chrildren's Christmas Carnival which was extremely well organized by the Westwood students and received great support from the community! Hopefully this can continue in the years to come!
Bannatyne School, once again, donated the Silve Collection from their two Christmas concerts and raised over $600!!!
Linwood School and Stevenson School both organized Gingerbread and Candy House raffles. The students had a great time making them and houses were raffled off in support of GO!. Check back soon for some pictures of the awesome houses!
And, to top it all off, GO! launched its 100 People + 100 Dollars Campaign and the response was incredible! Thank you so much to everyone who supported the cause! Nothing would be possible without everyone's contributions! Donations are still be accepted on paypal or cheques can be mailed to the address listed in the CONTACT GO! page!

Now, for the exciting part. I'm back in TANZANIA! After 20 months of fundraising, GO! is on its way to beginning construction of HERO HOME! I arrived in Tanzania on January 10th and will be in Mwanza soon. Our first order of business is digging a well! I'll keep you all posted so stay tuned!
